ENTRE A ESPERANÇA, O ESPERANÇAR E A DISTOPIA DA FORMAÇÃO DOCENTE

To hope. The act of teaching. Teacher training.Abstract
This speech was presented at the 1st National Week of Pedagogy at the State University of Alagoas (UNEAL), Arapiraca campus, in November 2025. It reflected on the urgent and unavoidable historical need to combat the hegemony of "learning to learn" pedagogies (Duarte, 2001; 2006; 2007; 2021) at all levels of education, which shape "homo stupidus stupidus" (Casara, 2021), combating the main affect that paralyzes and imprisons us today: fear, and reclaiming the importance of the act of teaching, of the teaching and transmission-assimilation of knowledge produced and accumulated by humanity (Leontiev, n.d.). The search for truth must be renewed and cultivated as the very meaning of knowing, revealing the reasons why utility and immediate pragmatism have been transformed into measures and qualifiers of "good knowledge". Thinking from a historical-dialectical materialist perspective, I understand reality as the movement of opposites that complement each other, not exclude each other. Constructing mediations and multiple reflective determinations that re-totalize reality and highlight the forms that ultimately condition pedagogical praxis, one can grasp one of the central objectives of the educator's activity, corresponding to the satisfaction of a vital need for them as an individual: the need to humanize other individuals. Finally, this seeks to demonstrate that, as Chico Buarque asserts, it's time to sow the wind, go out into the street, and drink the storm.
