Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the impacts of recent educational reforms, especially the inclusion of formative itineraries in high school, on the development of students' critical thinking. It is based on a historical-ontological approach to labor relations, grounded in the Marxist tradition, particularly in Lukács' ontology. This literature-based research demonstrated that contemporary educational policies are heavily influenced by international guidelines aligned with neoliberalism, contributing to the reproduction of the ruling class's interests. It was found that school curricula are not neutral; rather, they are permeated by intentions that prioritize the formation of individuals adaptable to the labor market, to the detriment of a critical and well-rounded education. The study concludes that current reforms reinforce the logic of capital, promoting an emptying of educational content and hindering students' emancipation.
