AN ONTO-CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF THE BEIJING DECLARATION (1995)

Drawing on Marxian-Lukácsian ontology, this article aims to understand the interrelationships between the alienation of sexuality and women’s emancipation in the context of the structural crisis of capital, through an ontological-critical examination of the Beijing Declaration. This is a bibliographic and documentary study; to this end, we will draw upon the works of Marx, Lukács and Mészáros, as well as the contributions of the Lukácsian author Holanda (2005), with the aim of investigating the extent to which women’s emancipation is organically linked to human emancipation. To this end, throughout the study, we will present an assessment of the official document drawn up by the United Nations entitled “Beijing Declaration”, adopted by the Fourth World Conference on Women: Action for Equality, Development and Peace, held in 1995, as an expression of the alienation of sexuality.
